Mysoda

Mysoda’s products are great Finnish design. Design full of details that deserve a closer look. To highlight their beautiful form, we created a series of fine art prints in black and white. The campaign went live on social media, but some prints also made their way on the walls of the Mysoda office.

Using a macro lense and hard light, we observed the machines from a very close distance. Light and shadow create a bit of drama, and water adds some playful details. Our aim was to show the machines in a new light, while keeping the images somewhat abstract.

Influencers

The photos were printed and framed, and given to influencers focusing on interior design and lifestyle, whose audiences matched Mysoda’s customer profile perfectly. They posted photos of the prints and Mysoda machines on their feeds, highlighting how the machines fit their apartments so well.

My Role

I got to work on this project quite extensively. I came up with the idea and presented it to the client. I was also the one who shot and edited all of the images, as well as prepared them for printing.

The first set of photos were slightly more abstract, (an example pictured here) shooting a bare flash through water bottles. This created some interesting details and organic forms. In the end however, we landed on a set of images where the machines were more easily recognizable.

Although this was a relatively small campaign, I enjoyed working on it immensely. It’s not everyday when you get the permission to shoot abstract black and white images for a brand you really like. As you could probably guess, still images hold a dear place in my heart and I try to incorporate them into our video-centric social media landscape whenever I can.
